Teaching Establishments – Basic Education
           

The Municipality has a total of 64 different teaching units of Basic Education. The number of establishments increased by 12.3% over the last 8 years. Elementary and early childhood education are the levels with the most educational establishments, 46. Another interesting fact is that in 2022, 96.9% of educational units were in the Urban Area and 54.7% of these establishments are administered by the Municipality.

The Municipality has a total of 35.7 thousand students in Basic Education. The number of students increased 39.9% in the last 8 years. The largest contingent is of fundamental level students, 21.6 thousand enrollments, 99.2% of these students’ study in the urban area of the Municipality.

Yield Rates – Basic Education
           

Fazenda Rio Grande recorded in 2022, a pass rate of 95.2% for students enrolled in Elementary School, in High School this rate was lower, 88.2% of students enrolled in this level of education were approved.

Failure levels were 4.4% of students enrolled in Elementary School and 8.2% in High School in the Municipality.

IDEB – Basic Education Development Index
           

An important result indicator, IDEB, measures the effectiveness of public policies in a territory in terms of Education. Below we present the IDEB of Basic Education of Fazenda Rio Grande for 2021.

The IDEB reached an index of 5.9 in the Municipality, lower than the IDEB of the State and higher than the IDEB of Brasil, in the Initial Series of Elementary School.

In the final series, Fazenda Rio Grande reached an index of 4.90 and the State of Paraná 5.21, but the average was higher than the national average, which was 4.85 for these series.

In high school, Fazenda Rio Grande had, in 2021, an IDEB of 4.60, higher than the State average, which was 4.52, and higher than the Brazilian average, which was 4.18.

Illiteracy rate
           

In 2010, the Municipality had 4.30% of its population illiterate and over 15 years old, according to the IBGE Demographic Census. The rate is lower than the average of the state of Paraná, 6.1%, and lower than Brasil’s 9.4% of illiterates in the same period.

In 2021, the municipality had a higher education entity, with 110 students enrolled, 46% male and 54% female. Distance Higher Education (EAD) accounts for 3,321 enrollments, and 397 graduating, most of which 62.7% are female students, distributed over five distance higher education centers.
