Below we will present data regarding rural properties, areas, agriculture, livestock, animal products, and plant extractives in the Municipality.

Properties and Areas
           

In 2006, the Municipality had 207 rural properties occupying 3,751 hectares of land. In 2017, the number of properties decreased to 134, and the area reached 1,395. There was a decrease in the number of rural properties, an order of 35.3%, and a reduction in the area of these properties, an order of 62.8%, between 2006 and 2017.

Agriculture
           
Temporary Crops

Fazenda Rio Grande, planted a total of 2,738 hectares of Temporary Crops in 2012, and in 2022, planted an area equivalent to 2,528 hectares, representing a decrease of 7.7% in the planted area in this period.

In 2022, the Municipality produced 11.9 thousand tons of food derived from its Temporary Crops, 24.0% less than in 2012.

The production of tomatoes, onions and potatoes stands out in terms of greater volume.

The value of agricultural production from Temporary Crops in the Municipality in 2012 was 8.9 million reais, and in 2022, the value was 29.1 million, an increase of 224.7% in the period.

Permanent Crops

In 2012, the Municipality had a total of 21 hectares of area planted with Permanent Crops and in 2021, this total was 13 hectares, that is, there was a decrease of 38.1% in the planted area.

In 2022, the Municipality produced 329 tons of food from its Permanent Crops, 37.2% more than in 2012.

Peach stands out with a significant production compared to other crops planted in the municipality.

The value of agricultural production from permanent crops in the Municipality in 2012 was 235 thousand reais, in 2022 the value was 1,004 thousand reais, an increase of 327.2% in the period.

Forestry
           

Forestry is present in the Municipality mainly for the production of Wood in Logs only in the year 2021. This activity represented revenue of 386 thousand reais in the Municipality.

Livestock
           

Fazenda Rio Grande has diversified livestock where poultry farming predominates. It was also found that the presence of cattle and pigs in the year 2021.

Production of Animal Origin

           

The Municipality of Fazenda Rio Grande produces Bee Honey, Milk, Chicken Eggs, and Wool. In 2020, this production of animal origin provided income of 3.9 million reais to rural producers. In the same year, 219 milked cows were registered.
