According to IBGE data, in 2011, the Municipality had 1,891 companies, and in 2021 the number of companies was 2,872 local units. Companies focused on General Trade stand out, with 1,050 units, followed by Manufacturing Industries, with 331 establishments.

The growth in the number of companies from 2011 to 2021 was 51.9% in the Municipality. In this same period, the development of companies in the State of Paraná was 22.5% and in Brasil 12.1%.
In this period, the segments that grew the most in several companies stand out: Financial activities, insurance, and related services, 875.0%, and Human health and social services, 243.5%.

For this analysis, we considered the number of people employed in the local unit and the year in question. In 2021, the Municipality had a total of 3 companies with more than 500 employees, and 89.7% of the companies did not have more than ten employees in their workforce.

The acronym MEI stands for Individual Micro Entrepreneur. It is a business model regulated by Complementary Law No. 128, of December 19, 2008, whose objective is to facilitate the formalization of the activities of those who work autonomously.
In the municipality today there are 13,319 MEI, divided into CNAE – National Classification of Economic Activities highlighting the activities of Mason Service, Beauty Salon and Clothing Store. There are 460 different activities that can be included in this type of business. In the municipality of Fazenda Rio Grande, only the 10 main activities add up to 5,587 Individual Micro Entrepreneurs and correspond to 41.9% of the total existing MEI in the municipality. Another interesting fact is that of the total number of people, who became MEI, a total of 57.6% are men and 42.4% are women in the municipality.
